From the tainted rivers of Vietnam emerged a battle hardened Rat. Yes, an American Rat! With hot lead running through his veins, "Capt. Riv R. Raat led the attack on the Mekong Delta with his right hand man" Wild Bill " Parks.. With his Jungle Rat tactics the Gooks feared Capt. Raat more than any other weapon the Americans ever had.

The great strategic and economic importance of South Vietnam's extensive inland waterways made it clear from the beginning of the war that the Navy would be in the front rank of the allied forces. Laced by 3,000 nautical miles of rivers, canals, and smaller streams, the fertile Mekong Delta south of Saigon, where the largest segment of South Vietnam population lived, constituted the country's rice bowl.   Capt. Raat was a one rat wrecking crew. Both North and South Vietnam were terrorized by the Mighty rodent. Even North and South Dakota kept a weary eye open for him.
